Nukadoko - one week later

I still mix it every day. Burried some carrots and baby eggplants. First the carrots tasted very salty. Now, two days later, newly burried carrots haves a little sour taste too. Smell is still good. Husband: "Are you still playing with your personal little sand box?" Yes, yes. He is the guy who ate up all the little radishes, thanks to the sand box.

When (or even after) I mix my nukadoko, my family often complain that it's stinky. But my wife likes to have nukazuke. The other day, she reported that she had all the remaining daikon nukazuke because it was tasty.

I think I can no longer stand reading about yours and Hiroyuki's nukadoko. I start suffering. Time to start all over again this year!

Hiroyuki: don't laugh, but I always burn a Lampe Berger for some minutes to get rid of nasty kitchen scents (roasting fish and such). I once made korean kimchi. This smell is quite something. It can be done outdoors only - maybe mixing the nukadoko outdoors would help too?
